ECE teachers will learn the basic skills they need to begin implementing GOLD® in their classrooms. They will examine the progressions of development and learning and the assessment process, practice evaluating by assessing children as part of the required Interrater Reliability certification, navigate the TS Gold website to find where they can access online training modules and conference forms to communicate with families. In the afternoon, you will participate in the required Culturally Responsive Teaching Course
Participants will expand their foundational experiences in culturally responsive teaching, examine and understand the implications of personal culture on students, identify how our biases impact our ability to be in authentic relationships and walk away with practical strategies for engaging all students in their classroom
Welcome to ECE! In this required session, participants will get the basics of ECE mandates, including licensing, ratio, fingerprints, and best practices in room environment setup and quality maintenance. In addition, required paperwork for licensing will be completed and filed. In the second session of the day, ECE teachers will be given an overview of the district-wide training supported by the DPS Literacy 2020 plan. Participants will leave with an understanding of the condensed content covered in the 2016-17 school year.
ECE teachers will integrate the new learning from the week as they explore how to design an effective learning environment, develop a daily schedule that reflects programmatic and curricular objectives, and incorporate intentional teaching throughout the day to support each child’s development and learning. In the second half of the day, ECE teachers will be given an overview of the district-wide training supported by the DPS Literacy 2020 plan. Participants will leave with an understanding of the condensed content covered in the 2016-17 school year.
